An artist generally starts with a blank canvas to build their next creation. That can come in many material forms. That work then becomes an original piece of art. After finding 11 hoodies in my storage unit, I started to think about this process and how I could mimic it with a wearable item. Over 11 days, I hand dyed each of the hoodies to create color patterns that are unique to each piece. These original works were then embroidered with a chain stitch technique on the chest and on the right side of the hoodie. The right side of the brain is known to control creativity and placing our insignia in that space is a reminder of that.
